So seems I am starting my VanCon reports a the end and working back...because i have to tell you that today I got to see some filming!
I was having a quiet day after last night HUGE VFX meetup, and went out to lunch with a couple of people. After that I went back to my apartment to rest, and an about an hour later got a message that they'd had a text from another fan who'd found where the show was shooting. They came and picked me up and we scooted across town.
Our luck was amazing. They'd been filming inside all day and now were setting up the shot outside a restaurant - with the Impala in the driveway. Its episode 9/05, written by Adam Glass and directed by Kevin Parks.
Before long, the shot the scene in which Sam and Dean exit the building, walk to the car and exchange a few words across the roof. I think they did about four takes, and at the end of one Jared took a pic of us
and tweeted it. I'd say there were about 25-30 fans there.
We got to see them touch up Jared's makeup, and do some styling of those flowing locks which involved quite a bit of hair spray.
After Jared and Clif came over and handed out bottles of water. Jared joked that next time it would be wine, as he and Jensen are setting up a wine company together! They have a name for the company, not for the label yet, and joked they were still arguing about that. He chatted for a bit more
and then soon after he and Jensen left - presumably to go back to the "circus" where their trailers were. The Impala was driven off and made THAT sexy sound.
Adam Glass came over to say hi, as did Kevin Parks who hung around answering obscure canon questions for a while. He invited us to go over to the other side of the building where filming was continuing, although it was going to be inside a black tent to pretend it was night. Still, being uber fans we went over. Aidan, Adam's son who i bonded with over the weekend, came over and sat with me and played on his tablet. The boys returned and then Clif said we had to move.
We found the Impala back around where some of the tech trucks were, and aside from not touching her, were allowed to crawl around her taking pics. The crew, who were obv working, were really nice.
So tick that off my bucket list!
